FPGA-Based Efficient Gene Imputation Architecture

In collaboration with SRUC to investigate gene imputation on an FPGA

This is a  collaborative project between the School of Engineering and SRUC. The aim of this project is to analyze current gene imputation algorithms and develop FPGA-based circuit architectures for key modules. The ultimate aim of this project is to develop FPGA-based cloud-based architectures for high-speed implementations of such algorithms.

The objectives of this project include:

  • An efficient mapping of gene imputation algorithm subroutines
  • Development of circuits for gene imputation for improving performance

Investigators:

  • Professor Tughrul Arslan, School of Engineering, University of Edinburgh
  • Professor Mike Coffey, Scotland's Rural College (SRUC)
